This shake is a powerhouse of plant-based nutrients. Similar to the other shakes on our site we focus on the nutritional content, because we want you getting your body starting off on the right fuel.

The ingredients of this shake are loaded with various antioxidants, phytonutrients, fiber and natural sugar. As well, generous amounts vitamins A, E, C, K, B6, iron, potassium, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, manganese and zinc. The flax and chia are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and polyunsaturated fats. Avocados are rich in monounsaturated fats, and also contain polyunsaturated and saturated fats. Fat is needed for the absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E & K). Drink this up, guilt free!

Blueberry Kale Banana Shake

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds ground
  • cups water or substitute with a nut milk
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries or 1¼cups frozen
  • ½ cup chopped kale packed
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon
  • tsp Himalayan sea salt
  • tsp fresh lemon juice
Optional
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Equipment

  • Blender

Method
 

  1. Combine the water with chia seeds and flax meal in the blender and let rest
  2. Add all other ingredients. If the natural fruit sugars aren't quite sweet enough add some maple syrup
  3. Blend until desired consistency
  4. Pour and serve immediately
